Brillat Savarin, 500g
Created in 1890, this is the non-affin version and is one of the finest cream cheeses in the world, which is in no small part due to the triple cream aspect. Cheese-maker Henri Androuet renamed it from Exelsior in the 1930s, as an homage to 18th-century French gourmet and political figure Jean Anthelme Brillat Savarin. Great with medjool dates and a good sparkling wine or buttery Chenin.
